Update on the Funeral arrangements for WOII Bill Griffiths RMP (MTD)
I've just spoken with George Woodall and apparently it's looking as though the funeral will be approximately a couple of weeks yet. This is due to the fact that Betty has had to make an appointment with the registrar to register Bill's death and the first available appointment is Tuesday next week 14th April so, going forward it is likely that the funeral will be the week following that. If there are any changes I'll let you know.

It is with great regret that I've had notification from George Woodall this weekend in the following:
Late yesterday afternoon (Sat 05/04/2015) I received a telephone call from Andrew the
son of former TSM (WOII) Bill Griffiths MBE informing me that Bill had

I shall forward you
any details that I receive when they are known. I don't expect this to
be after next Tuesday owing to Easter Monday holiday
Should you wish to send a condolence card to Betty and family, the address is:
Mrs E. Griffiths 70 Rowhill Avenue, Aldershot, Hants, GU11 3LP.

Well only a couple of weeks to go. The Reunion begins two weeks today on 25th April down in Gosport. It will be good to see old friends again and lift a few to those who cannot be there.

A Reunion of former members of the Troop who served during the 1970's has been proposed.
Would all former members who would like to attend this event please contact Alexander Low:
The event is proposed to take place in Aldershot sometime during the Spring of 2013, probably around March/April time.
A good excuse for a knees up...

I have been contacted by Stephen George this week who served with the Troop form 1989 until its disbandment in 1995.
No doubt many of you remember him as I believe he is still in contact with many Ex-Troop members.
I am at present in contact with the Imperial War Museum in an attempt to see what pictures are available from our past. I have already posted a few in the Albums section but I am hoping that there are many more to come.
If any of you have any suggestions for the website please don't be backwards in coming forward.
Kind Regards Bob

I have this week been contacted by David Gordon, son of the late S/Sgt David Gordon who sadly passed away on 24/06/12.
S/Sgt David Gordon Joined the Mounted Troop in 1958 after completion of his training and served with S/Sgt Ernie Scattergood and Sgt Bill Griffiths, as they were at that time.
During his service with the Troop his two main horses were 'Dennis' and 'Sam'. He served on the display team and competed in many competitions winning many trophies. Notably he was placed first on five occasions at the Royal Tournament.
He also competed in Show Jumping, Cross Country, Tent Pegging, Sword, Lance and Revolver.
Hi son David has many pictures etc which he has kindly promised to let me have copies of, which I will then place into David's own album.
David left the Troop in 1974 on his promotion to S/sgt.

I have also had a couple more pictures from Bill Brown which I have today added to his album.
